If you recently had your Lexus RX300 or Toyota Highlander in for service and now you have a lit check engine light with codes P0441 (Evaporative Emission Control System Incorrect Purge Flow), P0446 (Evaporative Emission Control System Vent Control Malfunction), P0450 (Evaporative Emission Control System Pressure Sensor Malfunction) or P0451 (Evaporative Emission Control System Pressure Sensor Range/Performance), check the hose behind the air intake box. When you check or change the engine air filter on these particular models you can pull off this hose, causing the check engine light. Here it is in the bay:
If you recently had a service done where they checked or changed the engine air filter and you have this malfunction, the shop should fix this for you at no charge (diagnostic or otherwise).
Hi John,not sure if it’s okay to ask questions or just post comments.I was wondering in cold climates how often an unplugged oil filter goes into bypass mode given high oil pressure and high rpm on cold morning startups?Please let me know if questions are alright or not.By the way I think your website and blog are very helpful and informative,also your repair facilities look first class!
